Kindergarten has been doing a wonderful job learning about lines, shapes and colors! We looked at the artwork of Paul Klee and took our lines for walks on our paper. We then painted with watercolors using only the primary colors. When the colors overlapped, some exciting new colors were created!
st grade is learning about quilts! We are using hexagons, pentagons and other geometric shapes to design unique patterns.
nd grade is finishing their texture creatures, creating implied textures on unusual and original creatures. We were inspired by Dr. Seuss as we read If I Ran the Circus and looked at some of his strange critters!
rd grade is almost done weaving and the results are beautiful!
th grade has just started making clay slab leaf bowls. We are stamping live leaves into slabs of clay creating open form sculptures.
th grade is drawing beasties. Beasties are mythological creatures that cross cultures and span time, such as Chinese dragons, the Ancient Greek's pegasus, and the Australian rainbow serpent. We are inventing our own made-up beasties and using pattern and shading within the contours of them!
