Dear Parents,
Tomorrow is PICTURE DAY!! So dress up and put on your best smiles. If you want to choose the pose or background, please fill out the form in the Tuesday Tracker and return it tomorrow.
Progress Reports were sent home today in the Tuesday Tracker. For some students I am hoping this report will be a wakeup call. In the 5th Grade there are high expectations for the quality of work that they turn in. For example, all sentences should be complete thoughts, start with a capital letter, and end with punctuation on a consistent basis. Today's progress report is not a report card. It is an indication of where your student stands now and there is time to pull your grades up. You will also notice that there was not a grade assigned for Social Studies because we do rotations between Science and Social Studies and your students have not been given a formal assessment. I look forward to sitting with you and discussing your child's progress the week of October 18th. Scheduled times will be coming home soon.
Remember there is no school next week. Please continue to read at home and work on multiplication skills over the break. Let's not forget what we have already learned.
Recently, I gave your child information on how to access their Math, Social Studies, and Science text books from home. This is pasted on the inside of your child's agenda. I realize it is sometimes cumbersome for your child to carry textbooks home in their backpack nightly. Secondly, there may be times your child forgets their textbook. I hope that you take advantage of this online resource that Cobb County has provided. Please note that these resources are the hard textbooks only, NOT the student workbooks.
