Reading
Read, Read, Read! The first daily homework book will go home with your child on August 22nd. Please have your child practice reading 20 minutes each day. If you feel the level is either too hard or too easy, then please contact me by email or a note in your child's orange communication folder. It is important that they read their homework book several times each night. They are responsible for returning it and taking a new book on their level the following morning. When your child starts to read longer books, you may keep the books for more than one night.
Please record the titles of the books your child has read to you. Record these in the Agenda.
Spelling
The first weekly spelling list will be sent home in September. You will be given a Spelling Homework contract. This will provide a list of spelling activities for your child to choose from to practice using their weekly words.
Grammar
The first grammar homework will be sent home in September. This grammar will be a review of what your child is learning in school.
Math
Monday Math is sent home each Monday beginning early September. Your child's assignment will be in the "return to school Pocket" of their orange folder on Mondays. Please practice addition and subtraction facts at home. Thank you.
