First Grade and Second Grade classes have had a Media Center lesson on PebbleGo, a new research resource located on Cobb Virtual Library. In the past, we have had animal articles. We are very excited about our two new links to articles about our earth and biographies. If you haven’t had the opportunity to look at PebbleGo before, you might want to check this site out!
PebbleGo is a user-friendly database designed for K-2 emergent readers. The website features over 200 animal articles, 200 articles about our earth and the seasons, as well as 200 biography articles. Wonderful photographs of the featured articles support the student’s comprehension skills as well as keeping them engaged. PebbleGo’s innovative read-aloud capabilities and word-by-word highlighting is easy to navigate and optional to use. Accompanying videos and sounds make the content come alive.
You and your child can access PebbleGo from home by clicking on Eastvalley’s Home Page, http://eastvalley.typepad.com and clicking on the Cobb Virtual Library hyperlink located on the left side of the screen under Media Services. Click on Elementary and then type in the user name and password located on a label inside your child’s take home folder. Then just click on the PebbleGo link. Once on the site, your child will be able to help you navigate the site.
If you have any questions about this website, please call Janice Ritt at the Eastvalley Media Center. Hope you enjoy this site!
