With the help of Hunny Hundreds, Eastvalley’s Media Center Staff is rolling out a new reading program called, The Stinger Award. This program will be for 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders and promoted by Hunny Hundreds. Since Hunny Hundreds loves math, the books will all be math related. The Stinger Award books will be located together in Eastvalley’s Media Center and labeled with a Hunny Hundreds sticker. Because of the limited supply of math books, only students will be allowed to check out these books and they will be limited to checking out one book at time.
In order to earn the award, 1st graders will need to read 5 books, 2nd graders will need read 10 books, and 3rd graders will need to read 15 books and earn 80% or higher on their EVRC tests. Students will need to tell Mrs. Moran or Mrs. Ritt when they have passed a Stinger Test. The winners will be on WEV-TV, receive an autographed picture with Hunny Hundreds and receive a certificate at Books for Breakfast.
A special thank you goes out to Hunny Hundreds for encouraging our students to improve their math skills! Eastvalley loves you!
