URGENT!

Registration Cards - Registration cards for the 2011-2012 school year were sent home today.  You are to complete the front and back of the form in blue or black ink.  These envelopes will be used to mail out your child's end of the year report card and reports.  Please address the envelope with your mailing address and attach 4 stamps to the envelope.  If postage is not provided your child's report card, you will have to  pick it up  at the school over the summer.  Actually - it will be a little difficult this summer since the school will be closed down for some renovations.  You will not be able to pick it up until the school reopens in August.  Your child's report card cannot be mailed without the postage being provided by your family.  Read the instruction letter from Ms. Wacker that is provided with the form.  Please return your child's registration card by Friday.

Week of April 18, 2011

Spring Musical & Field Day - Remember to send in the order forms for tickets for "Annie Jr.", Field Day t-shirts, and Field Day volunteers.  Seating is limited for the musical - so get those orders in quickly. The musical will be performed on Thurs., April 28th and Fri., April 29th.  The deadline to order Field Day t-shirts is April 21 (this Thursday).  Also, if you would like to help out on Field Day - we could definitely use your help.  Please return the volunteer form that was sent home last week if you could join us on this funfilled day at Eastvalley!

Thank you! - I just wanted to thank you for having your child at school on time for the past week while we've been taking the CRCT test.  Our final test (Social Studies) is on Monday, 4/18, and we all look forward to having this test behind us.  Results should be in sometime the first week of May. 

Spelling - Spelling tests will resume this week.  Those students that have mastered the priority word lists will be given an alternative vocabulary assignment that they will complete at home, study the meanings of the words, and then they will turn in the homework packet on Friday. 

Math - We will not be compacting this grading period.  My entire homeroom will stay with me for the Math block.  I cannot stress enough how important it is that your child continue to work on his/her multiplication facts.  Fourth grade starts out with a review of long multiplication and long division using two and three digit numbers.  Please continue to help your child master their multiplication facts!  We will be revisiting the topics of graphing and elapsed time this week.  Math will resume after the conclusion of the CRCT test.

Cursive Practice - Each student will receive a cursive practice folder.  Practice sheets to be used for homework and will be sent home from time to time.  We will start practicing some letter combinations and move on to full signatures.  By the end of the school year, each student should be able to write their name legibly in cursive.

School isn't over yet! - Please make sure your child is aware that school isn't over yet.  We still have around 6 weeks to go and there is still a large amount of learning left to do.
