Eastvalley students are learning instrumental music with Soprano Recorders in all 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade music classes. These instruments are used every year at Eastvalley. You may purchase a Soprano Recorder at a music store if you choose, but do not purchase a toy recorder from the dollar store or a department store—they do not sound the same as a real musical instrument. Eastvalley sells the Yamaha three-piece Soprano Recorder for $7 (the list price is about $9.50 plus tax). Students may store the instruments at school/in backpacks, but are encouraged to take them home for daily practice. Students may purchase an extra Recorder to keep one at home for practice and one at school for music class. Recorders are available in four colors: Translucent Green, Translucent Red/Pink, Translucent Blue and Off-white. We are able to get these unbeatable prices by placing a large quantity order. Therefore, we are asking you to pre-pay your order, and we will deliver the recorder to your child’s music class when the instruments arrive from the music store in a few days.
