Welcome Back to School!
I am so happy to see all of the new and returning faces. We have a new paraprofessional in our room: Ms. Chris Burge who will be serving our visually impaired students and a new full time nurse: Ms. Dana Parker.
Chad Hicks is returning as well.
Our first unit this year is.... American Symbols. Within this unit we will be studying where we live, maps, globes, and compasses, as well as great American symbols like the bald eagle.
Boosterthon, our school fundraiser started this week! The fun run that completes this fundraiser is on 9/1 at 8:15. If you can please come and run with your child that would be great. It's an awesome physical/movement activity and therefore we can always use many extra hands to help.
This year Adapted PE classes are on Mondays and Fridays. Please send your child in tennis shoes on those days if they have Adapted PE services. Speech and OT services started this past week. If you would like to know your child's service days please feel free to email.

This site is totally FREE. You can make flashcards to print or view online. I used it to make an activity for our American Symbols vocabulary. I put the word on one side and the picture on the other.
School starts at 7:20 and the Tardy Bell rings at 7:50.

If your child needs a bus pass because he/she is riding on a different bus or is getting off his/her regular bus at a different stop, please go to our website (www.eastvalleyelementary.com) and look down the left column under RESOURCES. Click on Bus Pass. Please fill out the bus pass completely and send it to school with your child to get Ms. Wacker's signature. If you forget to send it, you may email it to Mrs. Beth in the office (elizabeth.lauria@cobbk12.org) or fax it to 770-578-7216 by 10:00 a.m. Thanks for your help in getting your child to the right place in the afternoon.
