What is Ella’s Early Bird Readers? A volunteer based reading program for one-on-one reading time between a volunteer and student. All the information you need will be given to you – no preparation necessary!
Who can participate? Any volunteer (parent, grandparent, neighbor, etc.) who can offer 30 minutes of their time to read with an Eastvalley student. Student readers will be designated by their teacher each morning that a volunteer is available. The program will start by focusing on the 2nd grade.
Where do the Early Birds read? Volunteers will sign in at Eastvalley’s Front Office, go to the selected classroom to meet their reader, then proceed to the Media Center to read with their student.
When does it happen? 7:20am to 7:50am, any day of the week you select. It’s not called “Early Bird Readers” for nothing!
How do I sign up? . Volunteers will then be invited to participate and can select their day to read using a link sent to them via SignUpGenius.
Everyone is encouraged to volunteer just once, and welcomed to come back as often as you wish.
Start your day off right by giving a student the gift of your time.
